Resumo:
The Environmental Database and Information – BDiA is an environmental information system for the entire territory of Brazil, made available for public consultation, which brings together a collection of continuous thematic bases for mapping natural resources. The objective of this work is to apply the use of digital environmental information bases available by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in conjunction with geoprocessing techniques applied to physical geography on the Atlantic coast of the state of Pará, municipalities of Salinópolis and São João de Pirabas, where fieldwork was carried out in 2019. Through fieldwork, bibliographical research and literature review, the study area was characterized in its biophysical aspects – geology, geomorphology, pedology and vegetation. Associated with this aspect, a thematic cartography was created with the BDiA sources, with a representation that sought to apply the standard symbols in each theme. The scale of the maps, 1:250,000, followed IBGE's continuous mapping. On this scale, considered medium, it was possible to represent aspects of local physical geography in its main features, which also constitutes a mapping of natural resources.
