Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the context of the high school reform and the changes in the curriculum organization of the last stage of basic education; highlight some problems that interfere with the educational process of students in public high schools, and discuss the quality of high school education offered in Brazilian public schools in the city of Soure, in Marajó, based on data related to school progression, approval, failure, dropout, and age-grade distortion. A descriptive research is then carried out that”[...] is restricted to verifying what already exists. The events are narrated [...]” (FURTADO; DUARTE, 2014, p. 26) and exploratory that “[...] their purpose is to provid greater familitarity with the problem, with a view to making it more explicito r building hypotheses” (GIL, 2010, p. 27) of a qualitative and quantitative nature and approach, is it analyzes and interprets human behavior both subjectively and also uses numerical data (MARCONI and LAKATOS, 2011). It is a documentary and bibliographical research. Which had a theoretical basis based on: BRASIL (1996,2017), Araújo (2018, 2019), Ciavatta (2018), Ferretti (2018), Krawczyk and Ferretti (2017), among others. The findings indicate that the factors affecting the educational context of high school in the city of Soure, according to our research results, include high levels of social vulnerability, high rates of failure, dropout, and age-grade distortion, lack of schools in rural areas, appropriate school transportation for land and river areas, and infrastructure. Therefore, we assert that such reform will not solve the educational problems in the context of high school but will further propagate the educational and social inequalities already present in this stage of basic education. Tendo em vista que a reforma do ensino médio, é um assunto de grande impacto educacional e social que afeta o futuro de estudantes de escolas públicas brasileiras, pesquisa-se sobre a Reforma do Ensino Médio: negação do direito à educação a estudantes de escolas públicas em Soure - Ilha de Marajó - PA. A fim de analisar quais as determinações inclusas na lei nº 13.415/17, que destacam sua negação ao direito de aprender à estudantes de escolas públicas em Soure no Marajó. Portanto é necessário; descrever acerca do contexto da reforma do ensino médio e as alterações na organização curricular da última etapa da educação básica; pontuar alguns problemas que interferem no processo educativo de estudantes de escolas públicas no Ensino Médio e; discutir a respeito da qualidade da educação ofertada em escolas públicas médias no município de Soure no Marajó, a partir dos dados de fluxo escolar frente a aprovação, reprovação, abandono e distorção idade-série. Realiza-se então, uma pesquisa descritiva que “[...] restringe-se a constatar o que já existe. Os acontecimentos são narrados [...]” (FURTADO; DUARTE, 2014, p. 26) e exploratória que “[...] têm como propósito proporcionar maior familiaridade com o problema, com vistas a torná-lo mais explícito ou a construir hipóteses” (GIL, 2010, p. 27), de caráter e abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa, pois analisa e interpreta o comportamento humano tanto de modo subjetivo como também, utiliza dados numéricos (MARCONI e LAKATOS, 2011). É uma pesquisa documental e bibliográfica. Que teve base teórica fundamentada em: BRASIL (1996, 2017), Araújo (2018, 2019), Ciavatta (2018), Ferretti (2018), Krawczyk e Ferretti (2017), entre outros. O que impõe a constatação de que os aspectos que interferem no âmbito educacional do ensino médio no município de Soure de acordo com os resultados da pesquisa, são, os altos índices de vulnerabilidade social, altas taxas de reprovação, abandono e distorção idade-série, baixa frota de transportes escolares, infraestrutura escolar precária, escassez de políticas públicas que assegurem o acesso e a permanência na escola dos estudantes em vulnerabilidade.
