We investigated the relationship that street movie theater had with society, based on a case study from the memories of former employees and patrons of Cine Argus, in the city of Castanhal, in the state of Pará. Interviews, documentary analysis were carried out from images and periodicals, as well as research and bibliographic review. The author's Esta pesquisa aborda a importância do cinema de rua, espaço diretamente ligado à cidade, para o qual se dirigia uma massa de pessoas interessadas não somente na audiência dos filmes mas também nas vivências socioafetivas que esse encontro propiciava. Investigamos a relação que o cinema de rua constituiu com a sociedade, com base em estudo de caso realizado a partir das memórias de ex-funcionários e frequentadores do Cine Argus, da cidade de Castanhal, no estado do Pará. Foram realizadas entrevistas, análise documental a partir de imagens e periódicos, bem como pesquisa e revisão bibliográfica.
