The objective of this work is to discuss the use of games made with manipulable
materials as an educational alternative for teaching Cartesian coordinates, using
methods that seek to take advantage of the interactivity and immersion offered by the
dynamics and competitiveness possible with these resources, making learning more
engaging. In view of this, we chose the Game “Battle Naval” as the central element of
investigation for the research developed. The positive aspects of this game include
the practical application of Cartesian plane concepts in the school environment,
which is still very traditional. For this to be analyzed in a practical way, this study was
carried out in a state public school in the city of Salinópolis-PA. When playing the
game, students found it difficult to identify the points, and the quadrant signs were
not used in the correct arrangement of the Cartesian plane. Despite the initial
difficulties, later on, it was possible to observe that they managed to develop their
skills well, and during the development of the game, it was possible to realize that
they were able to absorb the information that was presented to them. In short, the
work seeks to illustrate that the use of games involving the Cartesian plane in the
educational context is promising for stimulating students' interest and facilitating the
understanding of Mathematics in a dynamic way. |
