Resumo:
This work aims to analyze how educational games contribute to support significantly the teaching of reading and writing of students 1st year of Elementary School. At school, play is a way to enable children a pleasurable, thought-provoking and programmed learning environment, with possibilities for learning various skills. Generally teachers concerned with traditional teaching forget that each child has his or her stage and need encouragement to achieve teaching and learning, end up leaving the games aside forgetting that they are important tools for learning. Games need not only be seen as recreational activities, but also as something that is part of the culture of children, their customs, allowing them to develop better in society, achieving success in their goals. In the research carried out with the teachers we can see that working with playfulness and with games is an encouragement both for the development of the children's intellect and for their relationship with the people around them that facilitates teaching and learning. The research about this work was subsidized by bibliographical research and field research, the field research through a questionnaire with open questions, which promotes the collection of data. This study intends to identify and then analyze, describing the reality found regarding the importance of games as a support for the 1st year of Elementary School. In the research carried out with the teachers it is noticed that the work with playfulness, the game is a promotion both for the development of the children's intellect and for the relationship with the people around, facilitating the teaching-learning process. In this perspective games become a facilitating subsidy in their pedagogical practices, when using the games he creates with his students, in the school environment a pleasant place that allows socialization. In this way, the teacher has a fundamental role because he makes the relation of knowledge through play and games.
