This work investigates the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis in a radial centrifugal pump, with the aim of obtaining characteristic curves for head, efficiency, and power, aiming at understanding and optimizing the equipment's performance. The methodology involved the computational modeling of the pump, conducting detailed CFD simulations, and analyzing the results obtained. The objectives were achieved, allowing for a detailed evaluation of flow patterns, pressure distribution, and velocity inside the pump. The hypothesis that CFD analysis would be an effective tool for evaluating pump performance was confirmed, highlighting the importance of this approach in optimizing pumping systems. Despite limitations and challenges, such as the need for experimental validation of the results and the complexity in defining simulation parameters, it is recommended to continue studies to enhance the understanding and efficiency of radial centrifugal pumps, considering different configurations and operating conditions. This work contributes to the advancement of the field
by demonstrating the relevance of CFD analysis in improving performance and sustainability of industrial operations involving centrifugal pumps. |
