The municipality of Curuçá becomes elevant for research on meliponiculture due to the majority of its territory being within the Mãe Grande Marine Extractive Reserve and the existence of an association in the municipality that specifically encompasses honey producers from the Melipona genus, the ASMELC. Were carried three microbiological tests and eleven physicochemical tests required by the legislation of honey from the Agricultural Defense Agency of Pará (ADEPARÁ) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (MAPA), as well as scientific literature, were conducted on seventeen samples to verify if the honey produced by these beekeepers complied with the standards for human consumption. The majority of the physicochemica test results were within the limits set by legislation and scientific recommendations, as were the microbiological test results. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that the honey from both species studied differ significantly from each other. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar os aspectos microbiológicos e físico-químicos de méis de abelhas sem ferrão Melipona fasciculata (Uruçu-cinzenta) e Melipona flavolineata (Uruçu-amarela) produzidos pela Associação de Meliponicultores de Curuçá (ASMELC) e também de não associados do município de Curuçá (PA) para realizar uma análise comparativa entre os méis dessas duas espécies de abelhas. O município de Curuçá se torna relevante para a pesquisa sobre a meliponicultura por conta da maioria do seu território estar inserido na Reserva Extrativista Marinha Mãe Grande e por existir no município uma associação que abrange especificamente produtores de méis de abelhas do gênero Melipona, a ASMELC. Foram realizados três testes microbiológicos e onze testes físico-químicos previstos nas legislações de mel da Agência de Defesa Agropecuária do Pará (ADEPARÁ) e do Ministério da Agricultura Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA) e também na literatura científica em dezessete amostras para verificar se os méis produzidos por esses meliponicultores estavam dentro do padrão para consumo humano. A maioria dos resultados dos testes físico-químico estava dentro do limite da legislação e recomendação científica bem como os microbiológicos.
