This work is part of the research project “Atlas of Pará: systematic and thematic cartography”, which aims to produce digital atlases of the State of Pará, Brazil. The general objective of the work was to produce an updated systematic and thematic cartography, considering that the latest productions are from the last decade. The methodology was based on the compilation and manipulation of vector bases using geoprocessing tools and readings of the geographic space of the Pará Amazon.
The first results were a series of maps produced on the geographic contextualization of the Pará in
Amazon region, (sub)regional and municipal divisions, and grids of orbital image scenes. In this
sense, the Pará Digital Atlas will meet the needs of teaching, research, planning and public management, aiming to serve a diverse audience.
