In the state of Pará, despite having a vast hydrographic basin, water transportation is little used and does not have integration of the peripheral districts with the economic center of the city. This study investigates how the proposed integration projects between the District of Icoaraci and the center of Belém have not been successful in the past and what factors are relevant for the user to use the waterway modal to the detriment of the road modal, based on a survey carried out to the target public about the waterway modal. The data obtained in the study conclude that users would use the waterway transport if there were integration with different modals for their destinations in the other districts of the capital. A integração entre os modais de transporte hidroviário e rodoviário é uma importante característica das cidades que possuem grande potencial hídrico, devido a capacidade de aumentar a fluidez no trânsito e diminuir o tempo de viagem. No estado do Pará, apesar de possuir uma vasta bacia hidrográfica, o transporte hidroviário é pouco utilizado e não possui integração dos bairros periféricos com o centro econômico da capital. Este estudo investiga como os projetos propostos de integração entre o Distrito de Icoaraci e o centro de Belém não lograram êxito no passado e quais fatores são relevantes para que o usuário utilize o modo hidroviário em detrimento ao modo rodoviário, a partir de uma pesquisa realizada ao público alvo sobre o modal hidroviário.
