Resumo:
The white river in Roraima, as well as other rivers in the Amazon, presents and determines the daily life of the riverine or indigenous population that needs both a source of subsistence or locomotion, besides being an important river trading area in the region, which is the local economy. On the other hand, the occurrence of extreme rainfall and flood events has become more common due to climate change and anthropic action. Thus, it is of utmost importance to analyze and monitor the Rio Branco sub-basin and its seasonality to carry out studies and to some extent avoid material and human losses. For the study, we used data from the fluvial station of Caracaraí-RR, in which it has a historical series of forty-nine years, from 1967 to 2016. Statistical techniques applied to hydrology were used, prioritizing climatological means and the average monthly, annual and seasonal flow variations. The maximum observed flow was 55,420 m3 / s and a return period of 23 years.
