With the implementation of the paleontological site of Ilha de Fortaleza, in São João de Pirabas, that in June 24 2009 other regions with the same potential were sought, in order to be elevated to the Geologic/Paleontological category sites, in this context the regions of Vila de Fortalezinha in the Maiandeua Island on the Maracanã city and Vila Pedra in the Irituia city were chosen, where fossils and icnofossils from the Pirabas and Arenito do Guamá formations were found, apart from rock formations of expressive cenic beauty and lateral continuity. The main goals of this research are the documentation, evaluation, and disclosure for the conservation and better use of the paleontogical and geologic material patrimony of the Maracnã and Irituia regions, from the Pará northeast. In addition, the methodologies utilized that mostly evolved bibliographic research, camp searching and the valoration of geodiversity for the geoconservation. As a result, we got both locations with the desired punctuation to become geosites of National Relevance, Moderate Degradation Risk for the Fortalezinha location and low for Vila de Pedra location. Therefore, analis upon the geoconservation were realized by conduct changing on the camp searching, valoration and disclosure of the area’s geology to the local communities and touristics by Geotourism. O estudo dos patrimônios geológicos in situ por meio de geossítios na região nordeste do estado do Pará consiste em um tema relativamente pouco divulgado no âmbito acadêmico, assim como seu potencial para geração de economias locais e formação social. Com a implementação do sítio paleontológico da Ilha de Fortaleza, em São João de Pirabas, em 24 de junho de 2009, buscou-se estudar outras regiões com o mesmo potencial para serem elevados a categoria de Sítios Geológicos/Paleontológicos, neste contexto foram escolhidas as regiões de Vila de Fortalezinha na ilha de Maiandeua no município de Maracanã e Vila Pedra no município de Irituia, onde são encontrados fósseis da Formação Pirabas e icnofósseis do Arenito do Guamá, além de formações rochosas de expressiva beleza cénica e continuidade lateral. Os objetivos gerais desta pesquisa são: a documentação, avaliação e divulgação para conservação e melhor uso do patrimônio paleontológico e geológico material das regiões Maracanã e Irituia, nordeste do Estado do Pará e as metodologias utilizadas envolveram principalmente a pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa de campo e valoração da geodiversidade para geoconservação. Como resultado obtivemos em ambas as localidades uma pontuação desejada para tornarem-se geossítios de Relevância Nacional e Risco de Degradação moderada para localidade de Fortalezinha e baixa para localidade de Vila Pedra.
