Resumo:
This research is focused on reflecting on the relationship of dance practice in the school context with the studies of psychomotor. It has to analyze exercises based on dance activities as a contribution to the psychomotor development of student, aged five and seven years old. That is, the intention is applied to observe the contributions of dance to the improvement of basic skills of movement of the child. Moreover, this study addresses the importance of a dance education that encourages freedom and the possibilities of movement, in regular educational institutions. This research is characterized as an action research conducted with eight female children, students from kindergarten at private schools, Educational Center Kid's Foot, entered the dance classes taught by researcher presented here. During the research plans were applied ten dance classes, from April 5 to May 5, to verify the improvement of psychomotor skills, under the influence of practical lessons dance.
