Resumo:
Permeability is an inherent characteristic of dentin and during endodontic therapy it changes depending on the irrigation protocol used. The objective of this study was evaluate the influence of passive ultrasonic activation (PUI) and reciprocal movement with Easy Clean (EC) file on the permeability of human root dentin. Unirradicular human teeth were instrumented with rotary files of the Protaper Universal System (Dentsply-Maillefer, Petrópolis, RJ, Brazil) and submitted to irrigation protocols with PUI and EC file, in the formation groups. G MIXTURE PUI: HEBP 18% + NaOCl 5% (1: 1, resulting in HEBP 9% + NaOCl 2.5%) and PUI; G EDTA PUI: NaOCl 2.5% + EDTA 17% + NaOCl 2.5%, and PUI; G MIXTURE EC: HEBP 18% + NaOCl 5% (1: 1, resulting in HEBP 9% + NaOCl 2.5%), and activation with the file EC and G MIXTURE EC: NaOCl 2.5% + EDTA 17% NaOCl 2.5% and activation with the EC file. The samples were standardized in the length of 16 mm and later sectioned, generating 3 disks of dentine per third, resulting in 9 disks of dentin in total. The samples were immersed in an ultrasonic bowl to remove residues. At the end, the images of the samples were obtained through scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was verified that the resources used in this study, EC and PUI, showed similar results regarding the increase of dentinal root permeability, there was no statistically significant difference in the analysis of the groups, regardless of the solution used. It was concluded that EC and PUI have similar capacity to increase root dentin permeability, independent of the chelating solution used.
