Introduction: Malocclusion occupies the third position of the most prevalent oral health problems, preceded by caries and periodontal disease. The present study had the objective of estimating the prevalence of malocclusions in the deciduous dentition in children of pre-school education in Belém do Pará. Methodology: A total of 294 children from public schools of both sexes were examined. Used a form for data collection. The analysis was carried out by 3 examiners previously calibrated to evaluate overbite, overjet, canine key, crowding, terminal relation of the second deciduous molar, Baume arch and lip seal. Results: It was verified the presence of 71% of some type of malocclusion in the observed children. The most frequent conditions were canine classes I and III, crowding, deep overbite, overjet. Conclusion: There was no association with habits, type of feeding and period of breastfeeding. It was observed an association between canine wrench class II with males and class III with females.
