They are transmitted by the female gender of the moskito Aedes aegypti and today, they are presente in all brazilian territory. The Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education created a program called School Health, which approaches about ways of prevention for these diseases and the promotion of health. It’s school’s and teacher’s responsibility, as health promoters, to spread the knowledge about the vector, its characteristics and etiological agents. In this research, we verified the effects of prevention campaigns and awareness in students of a federal institution, evaluating the researched population knowledge about the vector and its etiological agents, comparing the level of knowledge of the different educational levels. Coming from the idea that health education is liked to the meaningful learning, the tool for this research was a semi-open quiz, which application was done in two steps: 1) The quiz was applied to check the students previous knowledge. 2) The quiz was applied after classes with exhibition of a biology didactic video about the vector and its diseases social-political-economical implications using a PowerPoint® presentation with recent and contextualized information about these arboviruses. As result of the first avaliation, we noticed that campaigns that are external of the schools environment had better impact in every researched class. We verified a difference between classes from the graduation level and high school level, with a better development in the first ones. Its suggested that more intense activities about diseases prevention can be done inside of the institution and more attention to be given to the contents related to this theme in courses of teachers formation willing that the promotion of health be na activity independent of the promotional campaigns only done during the epidemics. A dengue, zika e chikungunya são doenças virais agudas que afetam milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo. São transmitidas pela fêmea do mosquito Aedes aegypti, que hoje está presente em todo o território brasileiro. O Ministério da Saúde e o Ministério da Educação criaram um programa chamado Saúde na Escola, cujos objetivos são a difusão de medidas de prevenção de doenças e a promoção da saúde. No caso das doenças citadas, seria o principal agente para a prevenção e controle dentro do ambiente escolar. É papel da escola e do professor como promotores de saúde, transmitir tais conhecimentos a respeito do vetor, suas características e agentes etiológicos. Nesta pesquisa, verificaram-se os efeitos das campanhas de prevenção e conscientização em alunos de uma instituição de ensino federal, avaliando os conhecimentos da população pesquisada em relação ao vetor, às doenças que transmite e às formas de prevenção (incluindo o combate ao mosquito) e tratamento, comparando o nível de conhecimento entre diferentes níveis de ensino. Partindo da premissa de que a educação para a saúde está ligada à aprendizagem-significativa, a abordagem utilizada foi de uma avaliação quali quantitativa através de questionário semi-aberto, cuja aplicação deu-se em dois momentos: 1) O questionário foi aplicado visando obter informações sobre os conhecimentos prévios. 2) O questionário foi aplicado após aula expositiva com exibição de vídeo didático sobre a biologia do vetor e as implicações sócio-política econômicas das doenças e uma apresentação em powerpoint® com informações recentes e contextualizadas sobre as arboviroses. Como resultado da primeira avaliação, observou-se que as campanhas externas ao ambiente escolar tiveram maior impacto nos alunos, sendo estas a maior fonte de informações em todas as turmas pesquisadas. Houve diferença entre as turmas do ensino médio e da graduação, com melhor desempenho das primeiras.
