The research is exploratory and descriptive according to the objectives, whose preliminary goals were: the understanding of what accessibility is and how it applies to a school space; thus it was possible to establish the initial arguments, configuring the work in a case study. The current study is a qualitative and quantitative nature, where bibliographic research as guidelines for data collection and analysis, whose intention is describing and analyzing the facts related to the initial questions. The Institute accessibility was verified from the seven routes observation, mapped with photographic survey and use the adapted protocol, these instruments allowed to elaborate the total path tracing and verify the conformities found in each item of the evaluation. The failures identified do not meet the recommended, whose results were highlighted by the Standard and current Brazilian legislation, and it was found that none of the routes studied have the accessibility level considered ideal according protocol. Este trabalho refere-se a uma análise das condições físicas de um Instituto Federal de Educação (IFE), com a finalidade de verificar se o local possui rotas acessíveis que atendam a Norma Brasileira da ABNT, NBR 9050:2015, ou seja, busca-se através deste estudo, avaliar se o local possui estruturas seguras e transitáveis para a circulação de cadeirantes. A pesquisa, do ponto de vista de seus objetivos, é exploratória e descritiva, cujas metas preliminares foram: o entendimento do que é acessibilidade e como se aplica a um espaço escolar; deste modo foi possível estabelecer os argumentos iniciais, configurando o trabalho em um estudo de caso. O estudo é de natureza quali-quantitativa, o qual foram realizadas pesquisas bibliográficas como diretrizes para a coleta e análise dos dados, com a intenção de descrever e analisar os fatos relacionados aos questionamentos iniciais. A acessibilidade do IFE foi constatada a partir da observação de sete rotas, cujo mapeamento foi realizado com o auxílio de levantamento fotográfico e uso do protocolo adaptado, esses instrumentos permitiram elaborar o traçado do trajeto total e verificar as conformidades encontradas em cada item que compõe a avaliação.
