Therefore, the prevention, installation of processes and methods in fire prevention and firefighting can not be neglected in favor of cost savings, as their damage can be irreparable. This work aims at the elaboration of a fire prevention and fire prevention project in an automotive center, located at Av. Nhamundá, Praça 14 de Janeiro, in the city of Manaus - AM, adopting the Fire Prevention and Control Plan (PPCI). It highlights the characteristics of the fire and ways of extinguishing it. It presents how the development of the fire occurs, its phases and its classes. List the main combat equipment and fire prevention techniques, their peculiarities of installation and elaboration. It also presents the current situation of where the project will be implemented and the challenges that still need to be overcome for more effective prevention. It is concluded that the prevention and protection methods described in the PPCI project and adopted in the study under study comply with the regulatory technical standards of ABNT and the legal requirements of the State of Amazonas, with its consequent approval and release by the Fire Department. Nas edificações de pequeno e grande porte, a proteção contra incêndios deve ser encarada como uma obrigação legal e um dever imprescindível de proteger, acima de tudo, as vidas humanas e o patrimônio envolvido. Portanto, a prevenção, instalação de processos e métodos na prevenção e combate a incêndios não podem ser negligenciados em favor da economia de custos, pois seus prejuízos podem ser irreparáveis. Este trabalho tem por objetivo a elaboração de um projeto de implementação de prevenção e combate a incêndio em um centro automotivo, localizado na Av. Nhamundá, Praça 14 de Janeiro, na cidade de Manaus - AM, adotando o Plano de Prevenção e Combate a Incêndios (PPCI). Destaca as características do fogo e formas de extingui-lo. Apresenta como se dá o desenvolvimento do incêndio, suas fases e suas classes. Lista os principais equipamentos de combate e técnicas de prevenção a incêndios, suas peculiaridades de instalação e elaboração. Apresenta também a situação atual do local onde o projeto será implantado e os desafios que ainda precisam ser superados para uma prevenção mais eficaz.
