NR-13 is a standard of the Ministry of Labor and Employment of Brazil and aims to
establish minimum requirements for managing the structural integrity of steam
boilers, pressure vessels and their interconnecting pipes in aspects related to
installation, inspection, operation and maintenance, aiming at the safety and health of
workers. The objective of this work is to apply the NR-13 through a checklist when
performing a hydrostatic test in a pressure vessel in the IFAM mechanics laboratory.
It is a bibliographical and experimental research, of a qualitative nature. A thorough
reading of NR-13 was sought, a list of items to be inspected based on NR-13 was
produced and a hydrostatic test was performed with a pressure vessel in the
mechanics laboratory, where the importance of integrity was highlighted structure of
the vessel, since the rupture of a unit of it causes serious accidents. In addition, this
is a professional conduct of the mechanical modality and that fits within Preventive
Maintenance.
