The present work aimed to contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning of chemistry in high school, Youth and Adult Education (EJA), through chemistry classes with experimental activities, using materials that are easily accessible and with substances from our daily life. The research was conducted at the Chemistry Laboratory of the Institute of Education, Agriculture and Environment -IEAA and at the State School Duque de Caxias, in the municipality of Humaitá-AM. The execution of this project involved the involvement of the school's chemistry teacher and the participation of 100 (one hundred) EJA students from March to June 2019. The methodologies used were the application of a pre-test questionnaire for the teaching period with the experimental activities and another post-test questionnaire the execution of the experimental activities. The results were compared between the answers of questionnaire 1, pre-test of the experimental activities and the answers of the questionnaire 2, post-test the execution of these activities. According to data obtained from this research, it was concluded that, even with adverse situations in relation to practice in chemistry teaching, such as lack of laboratory in school, it is possible to teach chemistry through practice and that these activities improve in a very significant way the teaching of this discipline and contribute to the student's awakening through chemistry, making it easier for him to choose as a future professor of chemistry
