In recent decades, two major events have been run by revolutionary or traditional oil markets around the world. On the one hand, a discovery of pre-salt off the Brazilian coast, whose importance was marked by the quantity and quality of oil and gas, was found beneath an extensible salt layer between the Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo coastlines. On the other hand, or enhancement of shale exploration in the United States, responsible for placing Americans as the world's largest oil producer, being the largest and most important player in the oil industry today. Both events were marked by various political interferences associated with the occasion or success of one (shale) and a frustration of another (pre-salt). A survey of analytical data capable of punctuating as a political interference affected by these two major events in the oil industry was conducted, analyzing also the main social economic results that were affected by these interferences in their countries. In this way, we highlight the US political interference during shale enhancement, and the Brazilian political interference in the period after the discovery of the pre-salt, as well as the positive and negative effects of each event within each country, such as most important developments of this research. In addition, the study also presents a proposal for intervention in the current model of the Brazilian oil sector, based on the measures adopted by the Americans and which guarantee the success of the country.
