The role of professionals working with Information Technology in organizations has
undergone several transformations. New skills and competencies are needed
for this professional, in addition to technical training and the ability to make strategic decisions
involving Information Technology. In this context, this work aimed to
identify a set of skills and competencies required of the health professional
Information Technology and to analyze how they present themselves in undergraduate courses in
perception of students. The methodological procedures used to achieve the objectives
results of this objective include an exploratory research that was carried out through the
analysis of scientific works, in the guides of the Brazilian Classification of Occupations, in the
of Knowledge in Software Engineering, in addition to the National Curricular Guidelines of the
Computing, and a quantitative analysis, through the application of a questionnaire,
directed to students of Information Technology courses. As a result obtained from
exploratory research, it was possible to identify 55 skills and competences. Of these, 64%
are related to technical skills and knowledge and 36% correspond to
behavioral skills and competences. Through quantitative research, it was possible to
verify that 94% of the skills and competences are little perceived by IT students.
However, for 100%, it is very important. It is expected that, with the result of this work,
it is possible to assist Higher Education Institutions in the construction of a Matrix
Curriculum that is more directed to the reality of the Information Technology market |
