This work proceeded an analysis of the practices of Public Relations in the Missionary Association Mission of Heaven, under the perspective of Community PR, understanding the difficulties faced by the sector of communication of MDC to unite theory and practice in the study of the current communicational structure of the organization. Inserted in the third sector, are the missionary associations which, through work on behalf of others, also develop the exercise of citizenship of individuals. In order to give the public access to this right, in addition to the values and principles of the organizations, communication is essential. Through bibliographic research about the third sector, community communication and the activities of Public Relations, this study sought to understand the performance of the area for the third sector, especially in a religious environment in the Amazon. The profession of Public Relations, as appreciated, has shown itself to be the part of communication best suited to the strategic direction of the institution's actions.
