The Amazon region has a rich biodiversity, where several species of reptiles which live in different environments both aquatic and terrestrial. However, due to the great population expansion of humanity, species of reptiles, especially turtles and jacares, become vulnerable when there is no concern to build strategies for the conservation of these species of animals. Thus, this work aimed to investigate and evaluate information from students from Itacoatiara-AM about reptiles. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied with students from three elementary schools II, being Remote teaching through the Google Forms platform and in person through Hybrid Teaching. For the analyses, the data were organized into keyword frequencies of the students' responses. The results obtained show that most students highlight reptiles with great ecological importance for nature and for the population, as they contribute to the food and economy of several riverside populations in the Amazon region. In addition, students showed concern about conserving species, encouraging the school community to create projects, lectures developed in educational institutions and actions in rural communities (places where some students live), with the aim of strengthening sustainable educational actions. The conclusion is that the existence of works evaluating the knowledge of students in relation to herpetology in Amazonas is of paramount importance, considering the biological dimension in the region. These studies contribute to the implementation of conservation and preservation programs such as the “Pé de Pincha” project and projects carried out by the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve. |
