The use of the cadaver in the study of Anatomy provides better knowledge of anatomical variations and body topography, which allows students to learn the different organs and structures more accurately. The cadaveric human body is extremely necessary for the study of Anatomy and its lack compromises the qualified training of academics and future health professionals. The present study aimed to evaluate the perception of professors, students and technicians of the Institute of Health and Biotechnology (ISB) of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) on the voluntary donation of bodies for the purpose of study and research in Human Anatomy. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective study, with an inductive approach and data collection through extensive direct documentation, through an individual questionnaire. Participated in the study, 114 students, from the courses that presented in their great curriculum the subjects Human Anatomy or Human Embryology, 1 professor and 1 technician from ISB/UFAM. The study was submitted to Plataforma Brasil and approved by the Ethics Committee. Overall, 69% of individuals were female. In terms of age, the majority were young people between 21 and 25. With regard to the participants' religion, most were Protestant and Catholic. Regarding education, incomplete graduation predominated. Regarding the knowledge of students, teachers and technicians about the donation of bodies for the study in anatomy, it was noticed that most participants had already heard about it, but that half of the individuals would not donate, others had no formed opinion and few decided to donate. In view of the above, the academics, teachers and technicians of the institution showed through their answers that the need for cadavers for study in anatomy is of great foundation, which is fundamental for health professionals. It shows how they are in favor of the use of human bodies in teaching and research, but they are not well aware of the legislation that regulates the use of indigent bodies and unclaimed dead bodies by their respective families. Therefore, the availability of information about the donation process can have a reflection on society that allows an increase in the rate of adhesion of potential donors. Thus, strategies that more effectively reach the population of the academic community about information on the subject are essential. |
