Resumo:
Vulnerable people are present in cities around the world and have been neglected since the beginning, when the first urban concentrations emerged, around 3000 BC (BENEVOLO, 1997), however, since the 20th century the number of people occupying streets and public places as an alternative to homelessness has grown exponentially, according to various census data. In Brazil, more specifically in Manaus, capital of Amazonas, this scenario is no different, and the increase in this population is a phenomenon observed mainly in the central regions, evidencing the need to reformulate public policies directed to the theme and to create new strategies to shelter and offer better living conditions to these inhabitants. Therefore, the main objective of the present work is to propose an architectural solution designed as a means of supporting assistance to these people. For this, it was necessary to understand how the State acts in the provision of this social assistance, as well as visits to public and private support places in the city, and interviews with the target audience, aiming at a better understanding of their needs. needs and expectations. The idea of proposing a Support Center for the Homeless Population is not intended to solve such a complex issue, but to develop, through an architectural proposal, an equipment that addresses the theme, provides visibility, as well as architectural alternatives, due to of being a sensitive subject and present in the Brazilian urban reality.
