This study aims to verify the magnitude of the returns to education for workers in the North
region in the first quarter of 2022, understanding the impact of the level of education on
workers' earnings, according to gender, race and household status. In the present study, we
sought to estimate the extent of returns to education in the North region for the year 2022,
through the Mincer Equation (1974) and, in order to minimize the bias of the omitted variable,
the Adapted Mincerian Equation, with the use of data from the 2022 Continuous Quarterly
National Household Sample Survey (PNADC/T). at the same time, it revealed high levels of
income inequality in terms of gender, color and household status variables: men had a salary
income 37.94% higher than women; individuals residing in the capital obtained 11.05% more
than individuals from the countryside, and those from urban areas, 19.92% more than those
living in rural areas.
