It presents the results of the study carried out on the accessibility conditions of the Sectoral Library of the North Sector BSSN, from the Federal University of Amazonas, observing the roads that give access to them and their facilities, furniture and services, designing their use by users. With disabilities, as well as reflecting on the results and proposing alternatives for assistive technologies to mitigate the observed technical mismatches. One of the factors that motivated him was the conviction that the existence of university libraries is linked to ensuring access to information for the entire university community, although studies carried out since 2016 point to operational difficulties refuting this conviction. Its objective was to study the conditions of accessibility of BSSN's facilities, products and information services, in order to assess their adherence to the accessibility profile of people with disabilities belonging to the university community of the academic units receiving its services. Regarding its methodological course, considering the objectives of the study, the research was of an applied nature, since its purpose was to expand the existing knowledge about the accessibility conditions of the BSSN, in order to propose alternatives for assistive technologies to mitigate the technical inadequacies. their internal and external environments; As for the collection procedures, bibliographic and field research were used: in the first, the legal and technical texts that gave the theme, the object, the problem studied and the analysis of the results were raised; while in the second, carried out through direct observation of its facilities, the accessibility conditions of its internal and external environments were identified; and with reference to the nature of the data collected, the research was qualitative, as the study was based on legal information, extracted from Law nº 13.146/2015 and NBR-9050/2020, and technical texts in the areas of Librarianship and Information Science, which allow us to safely understand the definitions related to the themes of accessibility and social inclusion. As for the results, it was found that the BSSN is not adequately structured to serve users with disabilities, especially the blind or those with low vision, the deaf and wheelchair users, since the structure of the roads that give them access and the dimensioning of most of its furniture, equipment and services, regarding the use of assistive technologies, are in disagreement with this legislation. |
