The work depicts the construction of a thesaurus for the Boi-Bumbá of Parintins. First, it is described about the documentary languages that are used as terminological tools for translating natural language into a standardized language that includes the Subject Heading List. In addition, they are portrayed about Ontologies, Folksonomy and Taxonomy. Furthermore, the specificities of the Thesaurus are treated as a documentary language that synthesizes a specific area of knowledge and the Boi-Bumbá of Parintins, whose folkloric manifestation is the object of study of this research. The academic, personal and social justifications for this study are discussed, as well as the general and specific objectives proposed. As for the methodology adopted, the research is applied and the type of research is exploratory and descriptive. The approach is qualitative, in addition to the data collection technique that was performed by searching for documents in databases. Finally, the analysis technique chosen was content analysis, as well as the steps performed, in order to specify what was done to achieve the objectives. Furthermore, the results of the research are discussed, which included the definition of 70 descriptors, which were extracted from documents that address the theme of the object of study and the established criteria, which resulted in the thesaurus of the Boi-Bumbá of Parintins. It is concluded about the importance of documentary languages, as well as the indication of Boi-Bumbá specialists regarding the relevant terms to compose the documentary artifact for the popular culture in question, which is significant for the Amazonian people.
