First, it is described about the documentary languages that are used as terminological tools for translating natural language into a standardized language that includes the Subject Heading List. In addition, they are portrayed about Ontologies, Folksonomy and Taxonomy. Furthermore, the specificities of the Thesaurus are treated as a documentary language that synthesizes a specific area of knowledge and the Boi-Bumbá of Parintins, whose folkloric manifestation is the object of study of this research. The academic, personal and social justifications for this study are discussed, as well as the general and specific objectives proposed. As for the methodology adopted, the research is applied and the type of research is exploratory and descriptive. The approach is qualitative, in addition to the data collection technique that was performed by searching for documents in databases. Finally, the analysis technique chosen was content analysis, as well as the steps performed, in order to specify what was done to achieve the objectives. Furthermore, the results of the research are discussed, which included the definition of 70 descriptors, which were extracted from documents that address the theme of the object of study and the established criteria, which resulted in the thesaurus of the Boi-Bumbá of Parintins. It is concluded about the importance of documentary languages, as well as the indication of Boi-Bumbá specialists regarding the relevant terms to compose the documentary artifact for the popular culture in question, which is significant for the Amazonian people. O trabalho retrata a construção de um tesauro para o Boi-Bumbá de Parintins. Primeiramente, é descrito acerca das linguagens documentárias que são utilizadas como instrumentos terminológicos de tradução da linguagem natural para uma linguagem padronizada que inclui a Lista de Cabeçalhos de Assuntos. Além disso, são retratados acerca das Ontologias, Folksonomia e Taxonomia. Ademais, são tratadas as especificidades do Tesauro como linguagem documentária que sintetiza uma área do conhecimento específica e do Boi-Bumbá de Parintins, cuja manifestação folclórica é o objeto de estudo dessa pesquisa. É discutido a respeito das justificativas de cunho acadêmico, pessoal e social para este estudo, tal qual é informado sobre os objetivos gerais e específicos propostos. Quanto a metodologia adotada, a pesquisa é aplicada e o tipo de pesquisa é exploratória e descritiva. A abordagem é qualitativa, além da técnica de coleta de dados que foi realizada por meio da busca de documentos em bases de dados. Por fim, a técnica de análise escolhida foi a análise de conteúdo, como também foram expressadas as etapas realizadas, de forma a especificar o que foi realizado para o cumprimento dos objetivos. Outrossim, são dissertados os resultados da pesquisa que contou com a definição de 70 descritores, os quais foram extraídos de documentos que abordam a temática do objeto de estudo e o critério estabelecido, o que resultou no tesauro do Boi-Bumbá de Parintins.
