Resumo:
With the popularization of smartphones in society, the use of mobile applications that are simple, useful and practical in everyday life has become necessary. Including within universities, which use institutional applications to disseminate information and issue bureaucratic documentation. In this sense, this work aims to evaluate the usability of the interface of the institutional application eCampus student, of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), in order to propose an optimization of the interface for better effectiveness of the use of services provided by the institution. For theoretical basis, the concepts of mobile devices, user experience, human-centered design, interface design, interaction design, and interface evaluation were investigated. The research is applied, exploratory, and uses a qualitative approach for data collection and treatment. As for the development stage of the interface optimization project, we opted for the adoption of the Project E design methodology. At the end of this process, the result obtained was a new interface proposal, with the addition of other functionalities. Subsequently, this proposal was evaluated with a usability test and presented positive results that allowed for a better user experience in accessing the services offered by the university.
