In the data collection, two semi-structured questionnaires were used with 07 (seven) professionals working in the municipal coordination of STIs/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis of Tabatinga/AM, in addition to a sanitarist and former coordinator. The interviews were conducted through audio recording and the collected data were treated in 3 stages, 1 - pre-analysis, 2 - exploration of the material and 3 - classification and treatment of the results. Through this research it was identified that the coordination of STIs/HIV and Viral Hepatitis was instituted in the municipality of Tabatinga in June 2000, being preceded by several stages that followed for the implementation of the national policy in the municipality. Regarding the research question: What are the actions of the national STIs/AIDS policy in the municipality of Tabatinga -AM? It was identified that actions are carried out in the areas of promotion, prevention and protection (workshops, lectures, rapid testing, distribution of condoms, diagnosis and treatment of STIs), as well as partnerships with other institutions in order to guarantee the rights of users of the service. It was also possible to identify the challenges encountered to implement the policy in the municipality as well as the challenges currently faced.. It is concluded, therefore, that the implementation of the National STI/AIDS Policy in the municipality of Tabatinga had its obstacles, but managed to be carried out satisfactorily in the municipality. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as ações da política nacional de IST/AIDS no município de Tabatinga-AM, compreendendo desde as ações ex antes até as ex post, sendo explicitado os fatos que levaram a essa implementação, o ciclo de políticas públicas, bem como o trabalho que é desenvolvido atualmente. Este trabalho é de cunho exploratório e descritivo, e abordagem qualitativa. Na coleta de dados utilizou-se dois questionários semiestruturados com 07 (sete) profissionais atuantes na Coordenação municipal de IST/AIDS e Hepatites Virais de Tabatinga/AM, além de uma sanitarista e ex-coordenadora. As entrevistas foram realizadas através de gravação de áudio e os dados colhido foram tratados em 3 etapas, 1 - pré-análise, 2 - exploração do material e 3 - classificação e o tratamento dos resultados. Através dessa pesquisa identificou-se que a coordenação de IST/HIV e Hepatites Virais foi instituída no município de Tabatinga em junho de 2000, sendo antecedida por várias etapas que se seguiram para a implementação da política nacional no município. Quanto a questão de pesquisa: Quais as ações da política nacional de IST/AIDS no município de Tabatinga -AM? Identificou-se que são realizadas ações nos eixos de promoção, prevenção e proteção (oficinas, palestras, testagem rápida, distribuição de preservativos, diagnóstico e tratamento de ISTs), além de parcerias com outras instituições a fim de garantir os direitos dos usuários do serviço. Foi possível identificar também os desafios encontrados para a realização da implantação da política no município bem com os desafios enfrentados atualmente.
