School Physical Education is na exceptional teaching and learning tool, its function goes far beyond the practice of sports or games, it provides the individual with interaction in the social environment, building interest in the body culture of movements and contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Through physical activity. High School is the period for finishing basic education studies, this stage is also marked by many discoveries and transitions, both physical and emotional, in the lives of young people. In view of this, there are tools that help prevent or alleviate anxiety disorders, and the practice of physical activity contributes to combating anxiety and maintaining mental health. The aim of this study was to analyze the relevance of school physical education in high school and its benefits in relation to mental health and anxiety disorder. The methodological proposal of this work was configured in a literature review through the search for scientific works published in journals, books, magazines, articles, research, in Portuguese, through the Pubmed websites, SciELO, Portal de Periódicos UFAM database – Repository and Google academic. The following terms were used as descriptors: physical education in high school, physical education and anxiety, anxiety and physical activity, mental health, mental health and physical activity. Among the 76 articles found, 56 in the first search period and 20 articles in the second search period were part of the final sample. The other articles were excluded because they did not dialogue with the present study. Inclusion criteria were those articles that dialogued directly with the theme addressed in this study, respecting the established period, that is, the last five. The results showed that the factors that contribute to triggering na anxiety disorder in high school students are: family, social and personal pressure with a greater availability of the disorder to develop in females than in males. There is a need for psychological care, as well as the importance of the role of the physical education teacher as a beneficial contribution to prevention and intervention in relation to mental health, such as anxiety disorder, as a multidisciplinary approach. |
