The role of the hospital pharmacist is unknown to a large part of the population. The general objective of this work is to describe the importance and attributions of the pharmaceutical professional in the management of hospital pharmacy: The specific objectives are: To emphasize the use of tools that help the management process of the hospital pharmacy with emphasis on the cycle of pharmaceutical assistance; To describe the importance that hospital pharmacists exercise with their participation in multidisciplinary teams. This course conclusion work is an integrative review in which the studies were carried out through a bibliographical survey and collected for an analysis of the practices carried out with authors. As a result, 21 works were found addressing the theme, in the determined period of time, being from 2011 to 2022, which demonstrate that the efficiency of management is directly related to the professional actions of the pharmacist. It was concluded that the pharmacist also participates in hospital committees for decision-making in the definition of hospital guidelines and protocols. This is a function that is present in several areas of the hospital and in contact with many teams, ensuring the optimal use of the medicine and thus guaranteeing the well-being of the patient. The pharmacist plays a very important role in the management of the hospital pharmacy, ensuring the prevention and control of infections, as he performs the activities of selection, preparation, storage, distribution and control of medicines and germicides. He also participates in the process of standardizing and controlling the use of antimicrobials, in addition to dealing with intravenous mixtures, solutions and other products used by patients.
