The present work aims to map a factory through a lean flow analysis and improvement tool with a focus on continuous improvement called Value Stream Mapping (VSM) applied to the 8-hole ceramic brick production process of a red ceramic industry in the municipality of Itacoatiara - AM. This case study seeks to validate the managerial importance of this tool by proposing a leaner manufacturing method for the studied company. The VSM seeks to provide a global perspective of the value chain from the request of the order by the customer to its shipment, together with indicators of the processes through which the chosen family of products is processed, from its state of raw material to that of a finished product. For the elaboration of the map, the process was monitored face-to-face for a period of two weeks during which the necessary information for its elaboration was collected. in manufacturing environments to support the preparation of the future value stream map. The results obtained in this study pointed to possibilities of reducing lead time, inventory between processes, and reducing the time of non-adding value, in addition to having been possible to identify and propose improvements to critical points of the production process, bottlenecks and waste. From this case study it is possible to validate the effectiveness of the VSM as a waste reduction and continuous improvement tool.
