The Dance is one of the languages that is important to be worked on by teachers in Childhood Education, considering that it facilitates the learning of fields of experience. This research aimed to map and analyze the theses and dissertations on dance in Early Childhood Education housed in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). In order to reach our objective, the methodology used in this work was a qualitative research of the bibliographic type and content analysis. To obtain data, we accessed the BDTD database and associated the descriptors “Dance” and “Childhood education”, without territorial delimitation. I had a result of 02 theses and 09 dissertations totaling 11 academic works. We found in the analyzes that a small number of studies compared to other subjects included in this search platform, indicating the need for more research that addresses dance in the school environment and its different possibilities for training and performance, we also identified the absence of works academics with this theme in some regions of Brazil, which may be related to the lack of Graduate programs and research groups focused on this area or the presence of dance in Early Childhood Education that could generate research.
