The research has a qualitative approach and an applied nature. In the theoretical foundation, themes about the history of journalism in Parintins and documentary production stand out: Puccini (2012) and Bill Nichols (2005). It’s based on data collection through field research, with interviews with journalists and collaborators who somehow contributed to the newspaper's history. From this work, it is possible to understand the role played by Novo Horizonte in journalism in Parintins. Este relatório descreve o processo de produção do vídeo-documentário “Um olhar sobre a história do jornal Novo Horizonte da cidade de Parintins”, cujo objetivo é apresentar a história do jornal Novo Horizonte, desde a sua implantação até o encerramento de suas atividades. A pesquisa tem abordagem qualitativa e natureza aplicada. Na fundamentação teórica, destacam-se temas sobre a história do jornalismo em Parintins e produção de documentário: Puccini (2012) e Bill Nichols (2005). Baseia-se em coleta de dados por meio da pesquisa de campo, com entrevistas de jornalistas e colaboradores que de alguma forma contribuíram para a história do jornal.
