This work highlights the report of a research on the importance of mapping the institutions that contain the historical collection and documentary heritage in the Municipality of Novo Aripuanã. One of the reasons why this work will be taken as a field of research in institutions and companies. The custody of the collection and heritage is very important, as it aims at the greater good for society, for this reason it is essential that all institutions have their collections and documentary heritage. In order to know the paths related to this theme, it was before the discipline of methodology of academic work II that the bibliographic and field research was approached, since it is necessary to enter the field to know the documentation of the institutions, which created for the memory of the municipality . The sample of the work emphasizes that it is notorious and urgent that historical collections and documentary heritage be mapped, and that it be rescued. In this way, it is emphasized that the research on the documents that are part of the memory of the formation of the municipality is very fundamental.
