This course conclusion work has as its theme 'Participatory Management at School: an analysis of management work from the conception of managers of public schools in the urban area of the municipality of Benjamin Constant - AM." The study aimed to understand how school management in the participatory democratic perspective is being implemented in public schools in the municipality of Benjamin Constant and the challenges that still arise for its implementation. For this, it became necessary to know the management concept and the role of the school manager of the research subjects; to verify what has been done by managers to implement democratic-participatory management in schools and; reflect on the challenges that arise within the scope of school management and the possibilities of intervening in the problems presented. The study was carried out from texts by authors who discuss the issue of democratic management in schools such as Luck (2009), Fortunati (2007), Luce (2006), among others. The research was configured as a field research with a qualitative approach and phenomenological method. For data collection, open questionnaires were used, answered by the two managers of public schools. Finally, through this research we analyze the role of school management and its possible challenges faced in the current affairs of schools, taking into account, specifically, the case of the management of two public schools by Benjamin Constant. We verified that school management, from the democratic perspective of management, has been promoted in schools, but in a limited way, considering that there are still no elections for managers, school democratization mechanisms are not implemented and actively developed, reducing to the school council. and that there is still resistance to participation on the part of some school professionals and students' families
