This research analyzes public communication practices in the contents released by the State Department of Penitentiary Administration (Seap), in the state of Amazonas. The institution is responsible for applying the rules of penal execution at the state level and for supervising, coordinating and controlling the penitentiary system. The present study seeks to analyze whether the work carried out by the agency's press office has been efficient in making civil society aware of the institution's affairs and how the interaction with citizens occurs. The research takes place from an investigation of a qualitative and quantitative approach of materials extracted from the institutional website of the body. In the theoretical foundation, studies on communication/press and Public Communication were used. The adopted methods were the case study and Content Analysis. As a result, it was found that Seap follows the premise of public communication to disseminate what is of public interest, making use of resources and strategies that facilitate the consumption of content for civil society. |
