The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) and the cervical region have muscle and ligament connections, whose association forms the mandibular cervicocranium system. Due to this relationship, postural changes can lead to biomechanical disadvantage of the TMJ and, consequently, to a Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD). Myogenic toothaches lead to painful heterotopic symptoms in the dental organs and are rarely associated with the involvement of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This descriptive work aims to report a clinical case of a male patient, 32 years old, complaining of severe pain in the upper left premolar region and cervical pain for about a month, resistant to the use of analgesics and bulging of the cervical region on the left side of rapid growth. Patient diagnosed with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome since 2018 in irregular use of Antiretroviral Therapy, Plasmablastic Lymphoma with monoclonality for lamba immunoglobulin light chain and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The emergence of painful nodules in the cervical region on the left side of rapid growth, which appeared in May 2022, was reported. Without remission of pain, also claimed recurrent headaches. A physical examination was performed for investigation and diagnosis, observing cervical bulging and trigger points in the proximal and superficial bundle of the masseter, sternocleidomastoid and descending trapezius muscles and was diagnosed with cervicomandibular dysfunction and myogenic toothache in upper left premolars. |
