Women are constantly seeking their space in the job market, they suffer daily difficulties and prejudices, but they gain more prominence every day, so understanding their motivations and influences to start a new venture helps to recognize and strengthen their economic power and independence. financial. The present study deals with the motivations for female entrepreneurship in the fishing sector, in order to describe the motivations for entrepreneurship among women shrimp farmers. To this end, it was necessary to identify who the shrimp farmers are that work in the municipality of Parintins/AM, investigate how their life stories influenced them in the decision to become shrimp farmers and highlight what were the motivations that led them to undertake fishing. of shrimp. To understand the issues raised in this research, authors such as: Rodrigues; Scherer; Diógenes (2017), Silva e Rocha (2010), Alencar (2013) and Brasil (2015). Life history research was then carried out with 10 shrimp farmers from the Brasília community, where the data was treated qualitatively using Bardin's content analysis method, seeking to identify the motivational factors that drove the group to undertake. The results showed that shrimp fishermen are women aged between 26 and 62 years, married or in a stable union, have children and have studied up to primary education (incomplete). These women had their first contact with fishing at a young age and were influenced to develop this activity by family members such as mother, father or spouse. Shrimp fishers see shrimp fishing as a means of guaranteeing an income and helping to support the family, in addition to of owning their own business and also ensuring that this tradition continues to be passed down from generation to generation. |
