Belonging to Class II of the Biopharmaceutical Classification of drugs, which means that the water solubility of the molecule in the gastrointestinal tract is the limiting step in the absorption process, so that the composition of the pharmaceutical form must be designed to optimize the solubilization kinetics of the drug in the quite. Master pharmacies produce medicines individually, with the possibility of choosing the dose and excipients. However, quality control of pharmaceutical preparations is necessary to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the compounded medicine. Quality control is essential to produce medicines, whether on an industrial scale or on a master scale, as it guarantees drug safety and efficacy. The objective of the work was to evaluate the influence of excipients in capsules containing 50 mg of ketoprofen, controlling the active pharmaceutical ingredient and capsules manipulated with different excipients. Three types of excipients were prepared, varying in composition. The three formulations were approved in the average weight, only two in the dosage and none were approved in the dissolution test. This demonstrates that the composition of the excipient interferes with the dissolution speed of Class II and IV drugs, therefore, it is of fundamental importance that compounding pharmacies standardize validated excipients to produce each drug. O cetoprofeno, medicamento de atividade anti-inflamatória, analgésica e antipirética, pertence à classe dos anti-inflamatórios não esteroidais, que inibe as enzimas ciclooxigenase-1 e ciclooxigenase- 2 de forma não seletiva. Pertencente à Classe II da Classificação Biofarmacêutica de fármacos, o que significa que a hidrossolubilidade da molécula no trato gastrintestinal é a etapa limitante do processo de absorção, de forma que a composição da forma farmacêutica deve ser pensada para otimizar a cinética de solubilização do fármaco no meio. As farmácias magistrais produzem os medicamentos de forma individualizada, pela possibilidade de escolha de dose e dos excipientes. Entretanto é necessário um controle de qualidade de suas preparações farmacêuticas para garantir a segurança e efetividade do medicamento manipulado. O controle de qualidade é essencial para a produção de medicamentos, seja essa produção em escala industrial ou em escala magistral, pois garante a segurança e eficácia medicamentosa. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a influência dos excipientes de cápsulas contendo 50 mg de cetoprofeno, realizando o controle do insumo farmacêutico ativo e das cápsulas manipuladas com excipientes diversos. Foram preparados três tipos de excipientes que variavam quanto à composição. As três formulações foram aprovadas no peso médio, apenas duas no doseamento e nenhuma foi aprovada no teste de dissolução.
