Resumo:
The following research seeks to determine the occurrence of intentional misinformation in materials and their publications on the social networks of the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo. To support the analysis, the work relies on the concepts of news value, social networks, disinformation and post-truth in order to identify the occurrence of these phenomena in journalistic texts and in their dissemination posts. To verify the existence of these issues, the French Discourse Analysis methodology, conceptualized by Orlandi (2012) and Souza (2014), is used in order to categorize the type of discourse adopted by the writers of the texts and how aspects of misinformation are included in them, even if unconsciously. To obtain the information, bibliographical, documentary and internet research methods were used. In the analysis, we start from the hypothesis that true news can have a misleading potential depending on the way it is presented to the reading public.
