Work instructions are an important component within an organization. They serve as practical guides for production operators, guiding them towards a standard of efficiency and quality in industrial processes. In production processes, they are essential for consistency, safety and productivity. However, due to the complexity of assembling certain products, providing adequate guidance through work instructions has become a challenging task. The aim of this research is to apply augmented reality as an illustration of operational work instructions in industrial production processes. To demonstrate the application, an excavator assembly kit was chosen, exemplifying assembly on a smaller scale, making it easier to understand. The parts were modeled and animated using Blender software, then the files were exported to Unity to create the interface. The project was converted into an application compatible with Android devices, projecting the 3D model in augmented reality using the QR Code marker just by pointing the cell phone camera. To carry out the assembly tests, a work instruction combined with AR was developed and, when analyzing its advantages, it was observed that the animations brought more agility and precision when assembling, avoiding errors, making it easier to understand the assembly steps and reducing the time needed to train new employees. |
