Resumo:
This work analyzes the films Capote, by Bennett Miller, and The True History, by Rupert Goold. The objective is to identify, in both productions, how the relationship between journalist and their sources is built from an ethical point of view. We gather works that deal with the theme, and we highlight images and dialogues that reference the journalistic practice and ethical conduct (or lack thereof) of this professional in both films. Some of the discussions presented in this research come from scientific initiation projects already developed at the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), Parintins campus. In our analysis, we noticed that in both film productions the journalist characters, Truman Capote and Michael Finkel, went beyond the limits of approximation with their sources and, sometimes, we observed that the basic techniques of journalism are ignored and the code of ethics, forgotten.
