Introduction: The search for culinary preparations that are easier to prepare and
consume has increased over time, giving way to ultra-processed preparations, as in
addition to being easy to access and consume, they have the cheapest economic
factor for the Brazilian population. Digital media are increasingly present in the lives of
teenagers, forming part of their daily lives and becoming an indispensable accessory
for the continuation and evolution of life. Knowing this, it is important to observe how
these media outlets influence the behaviors of these adolescents, such as eating
behaviors. Objective: To analyze how contemporary media vehicles can impact the
diet of teenagers living in Amazonas. Method: This is a narrative review on how
advertising for ultra-processed foods influences adolescents' food choices through a
narrative review. Result: The article is categorized into the following topics: The
influence of the media on adolescents' eating habits: a critical analysis; Contextual
factors in the influence of media on adolescent eating: a comprehensive analysis;
Health consequences: a cautious analysis; Limitations in combating the influence of
the media on adolescents’ diet: challenges and reflections. Conclusion: there is a
substantial influence of the media on the consumption of ultra-processed foods by
adolescentes, including in the Amazon region. |
