The general objective of this study is to analyze the audit of administrative contracts in a state public body, exploring the perspectives, challenges and suggestions of contract audits. This research used a qualitative and descriptive method. The technical procedures adopted for data collection include semi-structured interviews with audit contracts at a state public agency. The main instrument used for data collection was a semi-structured questionnaire. This study highlights the fundamental relevance of supervision in public administration, highlighting the critical responsibilities assigned to prosecutors and contract managers. The results obtained indicate different approaches to applying penalties, not using inspection manuals and preparing reports, highlighting the complexity of this practice. Seeking to contribute to improving the supervision of contracts in state public bodies, the work aims to address aspects that can make management more efficient and transparent. By understanding the nuances of this process, space is opened for more effective strategies in the use of public resources and non-compliance with contractual obligations.
