Through a systematic literature review and documentary research, the main organizations involved in the preservation of films, videos, sound recordings and other audiovisual materials in the country were identified and analyzed, namely the National Archives, the Audiovisual Technical Center and the Cinemateca MAM Rio de Janeiro (Museum of Modern Art). The study highlights the fundamental role of these institutions in the conservation, restoration, dissemination and research of Brazil's audiovisual heritage, contributing to the nation's cultural and historical memory. This study contributes to the understanding and appreciation of the rich diversity of Brazil's audiovisual heritage and to the development of more effective and sustainable preservation policies and practices. Este trabalho apresenta um mapeamento das instituições e iniciativas de preservação audiovisual no Brasil. Por meio de uma revisão sistemática da literatura e pesquisa documental, foram identificadas e analisadas as principais organizações envolvidas na preservação de filmes, vídeos, registros sonoros e outros materiais audiovisuais no país, sendo o Arquivo Nacional, Centro Técnico Audiovisual e Cinemateca MAM Rio de Janeiro (Museu de Arte Moderna). O estudo destaca o papel fundamental dessas instituições na conservação, restauração, difusão e pesquisa do patrimônio audiovisual brasileiro, contribuindo para a memória cultural e histórica da nação.
