The rainy season is a worrying factor for many Brazilian families, due to the danger of natural disasters, such as floods, floods or landslides that affect the homes of the population in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability, resulting in loss of material or family assets. Many factors contribute to the occurrence of natural disasters in this category, such as the lack of basic sanitation, lack of urban planning, accumulation of garbage and debris. In Parintins-AM these events are not exempt from occurring. This work presents, through radio documentary format, the reality of families affected by the great rain of April, 2022 and aims to portray in depth the challenges faced by residents of the Nova Conquista occupation during the flooding, especially the actions taken by the public authorities in the face of this reality. We used qualitative research as a methodology and used semi-structured interviews to collect data. The product addresses the main difficulties experienced by residents, as well as the first measures taken by authorities to help families affected by this disaster. In the end, it was found that a large part of the affected families did not receive due support from the public authorities. Two years after the incident, the infrastructure situation at the site remains unchanged. Despite the existing problems, the residents of the Nova Conquista occupation continue with the hope of better living conditions so that they can no longer live insecure in the face of the rains. |
