This work consists of an integrative literature review in which the main goal is to obtain an existential phenomenological comprehension regarding the experience of grieving as an adolescent. Grief is a process experienced after the loss of a loved one. Adolescence is a period of changes when the creation of identity begins. Simultaneously living through such events can result in disorders and vulnerabilities, as it can also lead to new possibilities of existing as a being, in a recent phenomenological reading. Phenomenology is an investigation method rooted in philosophy, mainly characterized for the pursuit of the essence of the senses and the phenomena. For the creation of this study, the integrative literature review was used as the basis. The Health Virtual Library (BVS) was the main source of collection of material, which contain a base of data such as: Latin-American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and Index Psychology - Technical-Scientific Periodicals. The research achieved a total of 108 studies which, after the application of the criteria already laid down, became 8. The results point to an understanding that highlights adolescence as a period of identity construction which, when it is marked upon loss and subsequent mourning, triggers short- and long-term repercussions. Grief was expressed through withdrawal and isolation from the family and social spheres. The senses moved through diverse possibilities comprehending an opening for the experience of pain and also personal growth and changing. It can be concluded that the experience makes a profound impression, awakening an existential turning point with the transformation of ways of being and existing. |
